We are developing a technology (pat. pending) using the accelerometers in your phone to classify and handicap cars for close competition. Our vision applies this technology to create a version of racing that:​

1. ELEVATES EXPOSURE FOR DRIVERS

The fast drivers will get visibility by being on the top of the leaderboard for all users to see. Swhoon will allow for an official repository for lap records.

2. PLAYS FAIR

Swhoon will make it impossible to cheat through modifying the car. If you decide to make a change that makes your car go faster, we will be able to see it in the data.

3. ALLOWS FREEDOM

More freedom in the modifications you want to make and what car you want to drive. Running street tires on your GT3 will allow you to compete with a modified Miata on slicks. Run at any event you want, with any club you want, but still be able to compete with friends that drove at the same track on a different weekend. If you want to compete in a faster class, modify your car to make it go faster however you want.

5. MINIMIZES RULES & REGULATIONS

There is no confusing and long classification rule book that needs to be read and filled out. Classification will be calculated automatically.

6. INCLUDES ALL CARS

Remove car tribalism between car makes and clubs. All car makes will be able to compete with all other makes.

7. INCREASES SAFETY

Since there is no wheel to wheel racing, the risk of a crash is reduced significantly… but you can still wheel to wheel race with a friend if you want.

8. REWARDS CREATIVITY

A place where the best ideas for making a car go faster are cultivated and are not ruled out due to unnecessary rules and regulations.

 

9. MAXIMIZES COMPETITION 

Swhoon will allow less skilled drivers in fast cars to be able to compete with fast drivers in slow cars. Making everyone much more competitive in their class. If the slow driver in the fast car got better, they would just move up in class. 

 

10. CREATES ACCURATE HANDICAPS

Gone are the days of the unfair PAX index numbers. You will be able to compete with your friends in different cars and classes. 

 

11. OPTIMIZES CLASS SIZE

Gone are the days of too many classes (SCCA has 28 for Solo!) and too few people in them. We will reduce the amount of classes to make things clean and simple.

12. MINIMIZES COSTS

The Swhoon system is designed to allow more people to be able to compete in motorsports that don’t have the budget currently necessary, or the space to have a dedicated track car or trailer. Racers can be competitive using tires with a treadwear warranty from Michelin, and other consumables brakes/rotors, etc from a company called FCP Euro (please sponsor us!)

HOW?

The app will record the maximum accelerations of the car during your competition lap. The maximum braking, forward and lateral accelerations will be recorded and plugged into our proprietary algorithm. Shift times, elevation, camber and weather will be accounted for.
